Tenun Dance
Tenun dance was born from Mr.Ridet and Mr. Wayan Likes‘s inspiration, look to activities most of woman in Bali to make and yielding a cloth which made from refine thread which bunching with motifs of flowers or patras ornament which typically from a region in Bali. Tenun mean is an activity to uniting the refine threads until yielding a new cloth, nor with certain motif or no. This dance will explain us how to weave , which start with spinning the threads until a cloth which ready to wear.
Tenun dance have a particular feature compared with other dances, because the dress worn by the dancer on the head, the dancer’s hair bandaged by special cloth which also from weave cloth usually named with term tengkuluk. Also in undercarriage of body using kamben made from weave material with Bali’s motif.
This dance was born in 1957 and very popular since year 60s possessed with an elegant dance, so perform an entertainment which very beautiful and transmitting matronly aura and Bali femininity. This Tenun dance pertained into group dance, usually danced by minimum 3 dancers.
Composition of this dance also have arranged nicely so interaction and cohesive among the dancer seen clearly. Beside composition of group, this dance also signalizing each individual which unified in a group of woman activity to yielding something advantage.
